Unable to get in touch with PIP and left on hold until lines are closed/Wrong Backpay

Has anyone ever been left on hold so long the enquiry line closes and nobody answers? My last post I mentioned I had been given a higher claim and have received the letter confirming. I'm at a loss of how the money they owe is worked out as it just doesn't make sense any way I worked it out. Can someone help? I am waiting literally 40 mins to an hour without being answered or being transferred and left on hold til they close. From 17th November to 5th march they have back paid. Am I wrong thinking they work it out week by week, minus what I was already being paid? For example. Standard Daily living at the time was £68.10 pw and my new claim is 128.65 pw. (using the rates that would been correct for the time they decided they will pay me for) I don't want to ramble on any longer, so the amount I was paid was £422, and I hate to complain but the benefits and work site tells me differently and every way I have tried to work it out doesn't add up, I'm always coming up that the should owe me at least another £400

Minus the weekly rate for what your award was against what it is now and multiply it by the number of weeks. It's more complicated to do it the way you suggested. You will only get a rough figure anyway.

If I work it out as roughly 15 weeks and the difference between those amounts is £60.55/week x 15 =£908.25. Therefore I agree that the amount you received doesn't seem correct to me.

Best time to ring is as soon as they open at 9am. The last time I rang them a few weeks ago it took about 20 minutes to get through at that time.

Thankyou ! Been wracking my brain and going crazy trying to figure it out. That was originally the way I had worked it out but other ways get around a similar number, but definitely not what they paid me. Much appreciated 👍🏻

I called earlier today and even though I still had to wait an hour, I got to speak to my case manager who agreed it was not correct. The rest will be paid in 3-5 working days, pretty pleased with that
