Hello I am Carol
I have gone off work on ill health retirement. I am petrified about the benefit system. I contacted the CRB. and started claiming UC, I have been recently sent a low capacity work related assessment form. Dose anyone know what this means now?
I have also claimed for PIP which has gone to the tribunal, have not had an appointment yet. Dose anyone know implications if I still look for work?

When you report a health condition and provide fit notes for UC they refer you for a work capability assessment. You need to make sure you fill that form in with relevant information about how your health conditions affect you.
They will look at the work you can do rather than the work you can't do. There's a guide for filling out that form here. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/employment-and-support-allowance/help-with-your-esa-claim/fill-in-form-esa/ Although it says ESA50 on that, the UC50 form is identical.
There's some information here about UC with a health condition. universal-credit-if-you-have-a-disability-or-health-condition
If found to have LCWRA then you will be entitled to extra money for UC from the 4th month after you provided your first fit note. You can see the descriptors here for LCWRA https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/universal-credit-uc/uc-faq/limited-capability-for-work-related-activity you just need to satisfy at least one of them.
You must make sure they receive that form no later than the date on the letter. An assessment is most likely because most people have them.
You can work while claiming PIP and/or with LCWRA but if the work you do contradicts the reasons for your claim then it can go against you.0 -
Thank you for providing information that explain the process of claiming benefits0
