Hello I'm disabled and my partner works full time and is classed as self employed. Everytime I have appointments he has to take part day or whole day off so does not get paid that then puts him below the threshold but we can't seem to get any help. I've only just realised I've not had any stamp paid for 2 years and feel a complete burden on my partner as I only get pip and no other help.

Hi @loopylisa, sorry to hear you've been struggling. You're not a burden on your partner. I know it can feel like it sometimes especially when things are tight, but you're worth more than just the money you contribute to a partnership. There's probably all kinds of things that you do to support your partner in other ways that I'm sure they're really grateful for :)

Have you tried using a benefits calculator to see what you both might be entitled to?

I hope the community can be a place of support for you.

Hello thank you for your kind words  Rosie I think it's more to do with way the prime minster and pip, had my medication changed , waiting to go for biopsy . In more pain and a nasty comment I got from another person who was parking in a spot. I am in touch with well being as not coping with everything. It's not the money as such it's I used to work pretty much since I had a paper round and it's took years to cope with the change of not supporting myself.sorry for going on just having a bad time at the moment

I totally understand @loopylisa, it can feel a bit as if the world is against disabled people at the moment. And it's a big change to go from working to supporting yourself in other ways. But we're all here if you need some distractions or a kind ear to talk things through with. I'm glad you're in contact with some wellbeing support though, that sounds like a positive step. I hope you find it helpful and things get easier for you soon :)
