My mother is comming to care for me as my condition has worsen. I am on universal cerdit, lcwra and receive housing element. My mother is coming from the EU (Spain) It is not known how long she will be required to stay. What do I do with universal credit, what and when I tell them?

Thats a good one, but I also dont know how a visitor (she will be as such right?) is treated. Then again you say the time she will be staying is unknown, but isnt there a Visa length?

Maybe you ask them (UC) through your journal, but dont just call because I am sure the helpline will not help at all with this one and most likely be told the wrong thing.

Its quite a unique question I must admit, no wonder why nobody knows how to answer it.

They can remain in the UK for up to 6 months, without a visa. They will not have access to public funds.https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/613777bae90e0704352cbb0a/The_UK_s_points-based_immigration_system_-_An_introduction_for_EU_EEA_and_Swiss_visitors.pdf

Whether it will affect your UC will depend on where she's treated as living. If it's temporary then it may not affect your UC. This is quite complex so I'd advise you to get some expert advice from an agency near you.

What ever you do please do not ring the UC helpline because they will not be able to advise you.

Thank you for your reply, it gives me something to start with and the 6 months period may be enough.
