Just read that sunak wants to replace pip with vouchers or disability aids. Instead of payment. I am worried sick about it.
I have autism, copd and arthritis joint hypermobility. I had to give work because of my physical health.
I struggle also with dyslexia. So how would I manage to pay for heating which I need because of my lungs and joints
I just give up

I hope you won’t give up and will take the time to fill in the consultation
this is actually getting media traction this morning
we need to stop politicans walking over us and insult to injury, using treatment of the disabled as voter red meat and actually bite back!2 -
They have also said they'd scrap reassessments for long term claimants whose abilities won't improve.

Keep calm. So far, its only the media puppets publishing malarkey material, under the instructions of their employer, the government, to test the waters.
Our reaction will shape the future.
Message your MP and all charities you can. 3 million messages over to them. This needs a reaction. Being idle, will let them just push more.

I know many on this forum criticise my obsessive research tendencies but there are so many holes in this latest dwp plan it’s not even fishnet - and honestly this could be killed by using the dwp own quotes against them and obliterated via fact and common sense
so though I agree with those advising ‘wait and see’ in terms of starting to panick - I agree that the disabled community can no longer allow ourselves to be walked all over - sunak and stride are weaponising disabled policy to win them election votes so let’s turn their strategy against them1 -

They seem to be keeping very quiet about their intentions on this issue.0 -
I'd love to see these wealthy politicians like Rishi suddenly be told- ''All your over-inflated expenses and financial perks will now be paid via vouchers for Asda.'', they wouldn't accept that for a second.
..But for some reason they think it's okay to do it to the most vulnerable, struggling sick/disabled people in society?
It's disgusting the way we're treated.

They seem to be keeping very quiet about their intentions on this issue. It’s been confirmed that it would require legislation which requires time - even if it got pushed through the house of common in record time I doubt the lords would be happy to do the same
read around social media - endless human rights issues are minimum, getting pushed to the edge
always keep in mind that this suggested policy is the act of a few desperate men
and I will say it again - the wca consultation had less than 1500 responses - but even that small number got concessions, that small number managed to force hands and make a difference
can you imagine if 10k responded to the pip consultation?, what about even 100k+ ?
(with 16m uk disabled plus their unpaid carers that should be easy)
so those who were in panic central last night - have you completed the pip consultation? Have you written to your mp? Have you contributed to getting this trending on social media? Are you telling everyone you know?
if you are on this forum spreading doom and gloom and don’t intend to fight in the ways suggested (but not ending with the) above then you are letting this all happen as much as stride and co
we’ve seen how loud backlash have triggered u turns in the past few year
i won’t be conveniently quiet for either tories or labour mps and neither should any of you1 -

I have signed and shared, my mp leaving, he is always behind what ever prime minister is in. And only cares about having his picture in the paper0

@Faithlong
i believe in karma and truly believe the likes of sunak and stride will be dealt with soon
do you remember to scene at the train station in the last Harry Potter - that representation of Voldemort is a good metaphor of the Tory party right now (the final blow has already landed and we don’t need to do a thing more to seal their fate - unless you want ‘rotten food thrown at stocks’ moment and by all means)
For a few months I’ve directed my main attention to starmer because recent quotes suggests he’s learnt nothing from Tory mistakes when it’s come to the disabled and I think our community needs to educate him (and let him know he’s not getting away with the same **** the tories have unless he wants a very short tenure
There are 16m disable + countless unpaid carers - we actually organise ourselves (to a single voice) it’s enough to give any politician nightmare
just look at the pensioner social group - neither Tory nor labour dare touch them as they effectively create backlash speaking in one deafening loud voice - we could learn a lot from them2 -

Especially after the hundreds of millions they’ve wasted and stole during Covid to come after the disabled now they’re truly comically evil at this point!0
