Well, the time has come when I am due my pip review. First time I had to go to a tribunal to be awarded points, this time I'd like to have a go at doing the form myself.
Tinnitus is my main disability although I also a liver condition called pbc which leaves me extremely tired at parts of the day. I was wondering if anybody could give some thoughts on what I have put for the communicating verbally activity and whether I am on the right track concerning anecdotal evidence.
Last saturday my brother visited me at my house, like he does every saturday at around dinnertime. I was already feeling extremely tired after yet another sleepless night and my tinnitus was extremely loud and painful. I made us both a cup of tea and we sat down in armchairs approximately 4 feet away from each other. "How have you been" he asked. "I'm alright" I replied "have you been busy with work". "yes" he replied " really busy. I've been working on a flat in Failsworth". "Hailsworth, where's that then" I asked. "No Failsworth, the other side of Manchester. "oh right, has it got to be decorated all the way through. "gloss and undercoat all banisters and skirting boards and paper front lounge" he replied. "kirting boards" I asked " what are them then". "No, skirting boards, are you deaf or something, I cannot believe you cannot understand me". I had to explain to him about my tinnitus and how it was really loud today, and when it gets this bad, which happens on a daily basis, I have to turn the white noise filter on on the hearing aids which I wear that was prescribed to me at the hospital. When I have the white noise on it makes me misinterpret words and I have trouble understanding even basic verbal information.
I look forward to any feedback you may have on this matter.
