Hi ,it's hard to believe that after biding on 1 bedroom flats allowing pets & a garden which have been newly built in the area  my housing officer bidded on the opposite for me which means I can't have my dog or garden ,I have bpd, adhd, anxiety cptsd and don't mix alot so find love in my garden with my dog now I can't have either,my gp etc have sent letters but it makes no difference ,my granddaughter is non verbal autistic and can't play safely when staying, it seems we are numbers not people with needs or feelings.

Hi @rie11, Welcome to the community. I'm sorry that's happened to you, it sounds really upsetting. I'm not sure I have any advice as I'm not too familiar with housing situations, but I know we have some lovely members who I'm sure will be able to offer some advice suggestions on things you could try next. I'll pop your post over to our Housing section where they can find it more easily.

Would this not fall under the realm of disability discrimination?  I would talk to Citizen's Advice or Shelter to find out your legal rights in this matter.  I know for a fact that if I wasn't allowed to keep my dog or have access to a garden there is no way I could accept a property even if that left me homeless.  I would definitely look into getting some legal advice regarding this situation and maybe someone to advocate for you. *fingers crossed for you*  I know with housing officers it is a battle of wills, especially with the current housing situation, I've been through the mill with them myself.
