My daughter would like to return to uni and complete her third year. She took a year out due to her mental health and has been receiving UC, PIP and LWRCA since January. She will receive a basic student maintenance loan as she will remain living at home, but will she lose all her other benefits? There is a chance she won’t cope with uni but we won’t know that until she tries, but dread needing to start the process of applying for benefit again!

She will need to report the changes to UC. The maintenance loan will affect her UC minus a £110/month disregard. Therefore her UC will reduce depending on how much loan she receives.
PIP isn’t affected.0
