Hello,
My 2 year old is currently going through various tests due to a delay in her motor skills including speech. I just thought it would be useful to connect with other people in the same situation and if possible for someone to tell me this isn't the end of the world and there is a life beyond this.

Heya @CMO88 and welcome to the community.
I understand it can all feel a bit scary right now, but please remember you're not alone here, we have many parents here and it's certainly not the end of the world.1 -
Hello. Welcome. Unfortunately I may not be able to give you comforting words as I am currently going through a very similar situation (except that my son is 9 months) and I completely understand the anxiety if not knowing. However I hope you find as much joy as we do with your child's smiles and happiness. I hope you get the answers you need and you can move forward1

I really appreciate the responses and it is so nice to hear that I am not alone in this.
My little one is such a happy girl and I just feel so terrible that she is having to go through so many tests etc. She is having a brain scan soon and I am so worried.
I try to he mindful and not get ahead of myself with my worries but it is so hard sometimes!0 -
Wow that's alot of tests! Any answers for you from the tests?

@CMO88 from a neurological perspective nothing except that thankfully they have ruled out some pretty degenerative diseases. They are now digging further and think it may be genetic. The MRI did pick up some other issues though relating to his kidney function and pituitary gland but nothing that can explain why he behaves like a 2 to 3 months baby while he nearly is 10 months. We are keeping hope that it won't be so bad. We are doing a lot of physio and about to start osteopathy and occupational therapy
We found physio helps. Are you doing any therapy? If you do, hopefully it is also helpful0 -
We aren't doing much therapy yet, hopefully the physio will help your little one.
How are you managing to cope with the worry of it all?

Thanks. I would say it varies from one day to another. I go through the whole denial, then super optimistic and then proper down. I think once we have a diagnosis it will be easier to address this. All the best for you and your little one. I hope you find answers and solutions1
