What to do need to move but nothing available

Hello I have recently been put into a band 1 due to my disability needs and my sons, I have scholiosis and about to see neurologist for potential ms, son has autism and femoral anteversion and attends a specialist school, after a year of fighting we have finally been given priority with the stipulation of ground floor living whatever that means or bungalow, none are available and my other son cannot risk sharing a garden (autism under assessment) he could escape etc, we've had numerous welfare reports, now nothing ground floor is available nor has it been for nearly 3 years (1 adapted property in 3 years in fact) my son is potentially due to have an operation where he won't be able to weight bear for a long time, ot have said a stair lift is a possibility maybe, so do we bid on houses and hope to be offered with hopes of adapting it but likely being overlooked, stay in temp and wait for gf or bungalow which is 2 flights of stairs masionette and non adaptive or what? seems we can't win really and will likely get overlooked on anything we bid on and still be stuck here with no access to our home if an op happens, all I know is we can't stay here

If it's anything like when I was bidding, I could bid on unadapted properties but I wouldn't be given priority for those. Priority was only given for adapted ones. 

Banding works differently depending on the area you live. Is band 1 the highest where you live? For me, the highest I could get was medical urgent priority but that wasn't a band as such. I was placed into this in August 2023 and was offered a 2 bedroom house around mid December. I was extremely lucky because even with medical priority you can still be waiting a considerable length of time.

Hi so yes we were a band 3 originally which is standard and around 7 year wait, band 1 is the highest possible banding we can get and is classed as urgent, so I will still bid then on unadapted and see what happens, thank you

Unfortunately not, I have had to give up work due to my disability and have 2 disabled children, my husband is self employed and has also had to drop his hours massively, also no bungalows in the private sector really and certainly not with the adaptations we need, we can't even get a viewing

I'm in that position now,i'm on the adapted housing register for a 1 bed ground floor property with a level access shower,my position on the waiting list won't change but I will be given priority over others for an adapted property.

I've bid on a number of properties that have a shower but because the shower isn't level access I don't get offered.
