Assessment report

HI,

I had my pip assessment 3 weeks ago today by telephone. I've not yet received my decision. However, I requested my report off assessor. I had the assessment recorded and it is full of lies.

  1. Apparently I do not take any medication, I have 12 items on my repeat prescription. The repeat prescription was discussed during the assessment. Yet the assessor ticked I am not on medication.
  2. I told her I have text reminders and calls to take medication off family. Again it was marked I don't need prompting to take medication.
  3. I have severe IBS and have severe bowel incontinence. I buy nappies. I cannot use the pads of NHS. However, even sending reports off the IBS consultant and telling them I use nappies, again discussed on the telephone assessment. They said I do not have any incontinence issues.
  4. I told them I don't mix and I get grumpy and too fatigued to communicate too well. However, because it was a telephone call they've said I have no communication issues. Also said I have no cognitive issues, when I get brain fog and forget things. On the call I stuttered, got cranky, my fatigue kicked in and my tone changed. And I told them I've not locked my door of a night on more than one occasion and not noticed till next day. So how do I not have any cognitive issues? Also I have fibromyalgia.
  5. I told them family set up direct debits and that I am no good with calculations and don't understand APR like home insurance renewals and had family send in letters. However has been marked I understand complex budgeting.

It was recorded but still the report is full of errors and things that have been said have been ignored. And things that had not been discussed. Ie I wasn't asked about planning and following a route. But has been marked I can when wasn't even discussed.

It looks like she's recommending me 12pts for mobility and 10pts for DL. Which is the rate I am currently on. However, as you can see above I am missing out on points where I should be able to get them.

Any advice, suggestions or support are welcome. Thank you for reading.

For the mobility part with a recommendation of 12 points that would be Enhanced mobility if they go with the report. You can’t be award any higher than that regardless and of how many more points maybe possible for that part.

If they go with the report and mostly they do, though it has been known for them to go against it, whether it’s possible to score more points for a higher award will depend on how your conditions affect you. Just because you say you can complete an activity doesn’t mean you’ll be entitled to points for that.

It’s very difficult to advise without knowing exactly how your conditions affect you. Fibro is one of my conditions but we are all affected differently so I wouldn’t compare myself to you or vice versa.

Once the decision is made if you’re not happy then I’d advise you to get some expert advice from an agency near you. This way you will be able to tell them about your conditions and they will hopefully be able to tell you if it’s possible to score more points for Enhanced daily living.

You could also have a read of this, which will give you more knowledge of the descriptors and what they mean. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/personal-independence-payment-assessment-guide-for-assessment-providers/pip-assessment-guide-part-2-the-assessment-criteria#daily-living-activities

I'm aware I'm on the same at the minute but I mean with the standard DL I am missing points and could get more

@poppy123456 I know how this works. This is my 3rd assessment for pip. I'm not new. I'm updating and saying about the report. I don't just have fibro. I have hypermobility syndrome, ibs, asthma, an operated knee that dont recover. I use a walker and a crutch. I am unable to do much. Yet the assessor as lied even though it was recorded.

I still advise you to either read the link I posted or get some expert advice. None of those conditions would indicate that you could score points for making budgeting decisions. If they go with the report, whether it's possible to score more points for a higher award will depend on where you scored those points and how your conditions affect you.
