Good morning.
I am enquiring about the possibility of getting permanent dentures or dental implants through the NHS or funded organisations.
I have been suffering with mental health problems since 2014 and have seriously neglected my health. As a result, I have lost numerous teeth, had a number of extractions and have even resorted to removing broken teeth myself. I am also disabled.
I have not been able to work full time since 2015. I relied on my local NHS dentist for free treatments until they went private 2 years ago. I have not been able to find a NHS dentist since this time.
I am unable to wear the old denture I had as I now have no teeth to support it. I only have 2 implants at the front of my top section, the rest of my upper teeth are missing or badly broken.
I have tried numerous dentures over the last 10 years but I cannot wear them. They hurt, they make me feel permanently sick and unable to eat or sleep.
Without any upper teeth I can only eat soft foods, I'm in constant pain due to the broken teeth where my gums are growing over them and I have to take strong pain killers, especially at night to get any sleep.
I have not been out socially for over 8 years. I only leave the house to attend appointments at the doctors, hospital or other must attend appointments. I look disgusting and feel lost mentally. My mental health is seriously suffering.
I know the NHS only consider patients in certain circumstances and I realise they do not offer them purely for cosmetic purposes. I need them for the reasons highlighted above, I'm in a desperate situation physically and mentally. I cannot continue to live with these (and other) constant issues. I need help.
As stated above, I am currently not working. I am on long term disability benefits. I have been awarded enhanced PIP for both mobility and daily living. I also have carers and claim universal credit.
In addition to my dental health problems, I have recently had a Discectomy and suffer with a dropped foot so I'm in a wheelchair most of the time or I use walking aids. Treatment for these problems are ongoing. Also as mentioned I am a long term sufferer of mental health problems including depression and anxiety.
I really need help. I've cannot afford private dental care and cannot find an NHS dentist willing to offer permanent resolutions without funding.
My details are as follows:

Please can you look at my case and let me know what options I have. I'm clinging on to the hope that you are able to help me. If not, PLEASE give me details of someone who can or the pathway I can take without having a dentist willing to help me.
Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.

Hi @Peppernose7 and welcome to the community. :)

Just to let you know, I've edited your post to remove your personal information, as we want to keep everyone safe. I hope that's ok?

With regard to your dental issues, unfortunately it's not my area of expertise, but I hope someone on the community will be able to offer some solutions soon. I have found this link which mentions help with costs with NHS dentists which may be of some use?
