The plane crashed in Lincolnshire killing the RAF pilot (yet to be named) who was flying it

I don't think they announced what went wrong to cause the crash yet

Very sad for the pilot and his/her family and especially unfortunate seeing as it was meant to be being flown as part of a celebration 🙁

Obviously secondarily but also sad to lose one of maybe only 70 airworthy spitfires in the world

I saw that too. Very sad for everyone involved, especially the pilot's loved ones. I'm sure there'll be an investigation to find out what happened, I hope it brings some answers to their family 🙁
