Help for my son who is autistic but not diagnosed
I just stumbled across Scope while searching for help for my son who is definitely Autistic. Never diagnosed. I tried so hard to get a diagnosis when he was in school but they thought he is not severe enough. Struggled through the education system but now can't find work. Has difficulty communicating, gets depressed, spends time in his room a lot, low energy and motivation, gets stress headaches. 😩

Good morning @Themina and a warm welcome to the community. 🙂
I'm sorry you and your son have had such a difficult time trying to get a diagnosis and support, sadly we hear this a lot and I know how difficult it was for some of my family to get diagnosed.
How old is your son now? Does he have any support from his doctor or anyone else?

Hi @Themina
What you and your son have gone through sounds difficult. I am sorry to say that this is all too common when children are in school.
As your son is now an adult, has he tried to get a diagnosis of autism for himself? I know it is difficult once your child reaches the age of 18 as they now have full control of what they want to do, or not. He may find it helpful though if he went through the diagnostic process. This could also lead to more support.
A good website for him to to look at is
a guide for adults who think they might be autistic. If your son wants to work, he could also contact Employment support services | Disability charity Scope UK.
I hope this information helps.
