Hi I was meant to have a telephone assessment this morning at 9:15 from capita, this is my first claim for pip. I called capita to ask why no one had called she put me on hold but came back saying she couldn’t get hold of the assessor but said she would email her when I said I would call DWP but I haven’t. The problem being I need to call the doctors for an extended sick note but capita have told me I could get a call sometime today any suggestions what I should do please. I was also told if I don’t hear from anyone today I should call back Monday because it takes 24 hours for their system to update. Thank you

Oh what a pain @Lealea89 that's never easy, especially when you have no idea what's going on. Unfortunately sickness can happen and assessors can't make it, but usually they'd send a text in the morning. It's a tough choice, but personally, I'd try and get your sick note sorted, especially if Capita have said for you to call back on Monday if you haven't heard anything. Best of luck!

It's usually an automated reminder, yes.

ok thank you for your response. I’ve read a lot of bad reviews about capita & I’m worried they’ll say they’ve tried calling whilst I’m on the phone to the doctors.

I'd try not to worry too much about it all, people tend to only be vocal when bad things happen, you don't tend to hear about the positive experiences. :)

I will… hopefully Monday I should be able to shred some light on the whole situation like you said the assessor is probably on sick. Thank so much for your help & advice
