Hi, my name is vickistewart! Trying to cut down on painkillers after surgery.
hi my name is Vicki, I’m looking for some info/help after a diagnosis of syringomelia and chiari malformation. Recently had foramen magnum decompression surgery and currently trying to cut down pain killers. Looking to see if anyone else has these problem and for some support and info on it all. Thank you.

Hey there @vickistewart and welcome to the community. 😁
I understand cutting down on the painkillers can be a long and tricky process. I'm afraid we can't give actual medical advice, but hopefully some regulars will have some support coming your way soon. How are you feeling after the surgery?

Look forward to some support with it all. Sometimes it’s hard not managed to speak with anyone who has the same condition. Regarding surgery, feeling great. Have noticed a huge help pain wise, latest MRI came back that the fluids moved hugely so I’m over the moon with that. Just never spoke to anyone who knows the feeling of it all, it’s more mentally hard dealing with the pain 24/7 as I am bothered with severe nerve pain all down my arm. But recovery wise after the op was amazing - thanks
