Universal Credit
My son is 19 in September. He is in receipt of PIP.
I've recently been sent a letter informing me that my Tax Credits will soon be moved over to Universal Credit. I need to notify them by 28th July if I wish to claim.
I'm a single Mum. I do work part time whilst my son attends college. He has been accepted onto the sponsored internship programme so will be staying on at the Special Needs College for another year.
I am out of my depth. I need to notify the transport department that he will still require a taxi to take him to college in September but they are asking for a Tax Credit award notice for this year. I don't have one due to the move to Universal Credit. I am not even sure what the eligibility is for Universal Credit as my Son reaches 19 in September although he is still staying on at College for another year on this programme. Does this constitute "full time education"? He will be attending college 1 day a week and 4 at a work based placement. It is unpaid.
Sorry for my ramble. It is all very daunting and causing a lot of anxiety.

Hey there @AndreaJ49 and welcome to the community.
I'm afraid I don't have the answers here as UC isn't my forte, but I'm hoping by me commenting, it'll push your discussion up to the top of the page and one of our super smart regulars will see and hopefully offer some top advice soon. I just wanted to stop in and say a quick hi. 😊0 -
Thank you. That is very kind of you. 😀
