Good evening
A quick question, asking for a friend
Hes just been awarded a small amount of UC and on the rent bit hes getting a tax of £90 for a spare bedroom, my question is he has 4 children who live with his ex partner but he has them stay over at least once a week, can he add that to his UC claim and get the bedroom tax stopped?
Ive looked online and couldnt find anything

The benefits system generally doesn't pay to house children with the NRP (Non Resident Parent). As the children are already housed with resident parent.

Highly unlikely that he could claim for an extra bedroom for this.
