    mine has said 15 for my appeal decision to be made

    I had my pip call weekends ago spoke to the women on the phone terribly, I stutter on the phone and can’t compute what I am being asked my anxiety is crippling and had had a very depressive episode recently I was in the higher scale of it during the call, not wanting to be here was of work as I attend MH class on on a Monday but I end up cancelling due to my anxiety, I really work now if I am not of sick I will stay at home and do light duties Admin tasks so I don’t have to physically talk to anyone or I’d be sick with grief from it,

    I don’t wash for weeks on end (sorry that’s awful to hear) my mum will tell me to need to shower and have to force me to

    I dont cook I’m to scared to turn on my oven or microwave, I will eat some toast if I feel very hungry and my mum will make a meal and come give it for me every weekend I don’t drink often getting utis need to be near a toilet always again leaving public transport for you

    I don’t drive in to scared to Incase I kill Somone I will not learn to drive I’m to scared to get public transport I’m scared I’ll have to speak and to many people about to I will not leave the house for 6 days at a time

    I take medication but need to be reminded when to take this and I have dabbles in hard drugs many times and replace

    You have the wrong person about the report comment. I've never had a bad report for any PIP decision and I've been claiming PIP since 2013.

    This thread is from 2022 and the member hasn't been active since then. Are you at MR stage? Have you put that request in writing? A decision can take up to 12 weeks.

    May I ask which descriptor they used for ERM? I get SRM but am completely reliant on my car as I can't use public transport, take taxis, be driven by others, I can't even go out on foot. My 18 yr old car is on it's last legs and I desperate to be eligible for a motobility car to avoid being housebound,

    @Meg24

    You have quoted someone from 2022 who is no longer a member.

    Yes I have EDL & SRM PIP for mental health, I was on DLA before that.

    Evidence IS important, because they need to back up that the difficulties you describe make sense in terms of what diagnosis or description of your MH a professional has given you, basically they need justification for believing you. I don't have a formal diagnosis because I refuse to see a psychiatrist but I always send a letter from my therapist so anything you have like that from any HP you have seen will be useful.

    If you need to challenge the assessor's report then you need to state that they have come to their conclusions based on a misreading of the evidence or an incorrect assumption, there's absolutely no point calling them a liar or arguing with their opinion unfortunately. You have to stick with WHY the descriptors apply to you and why the assessor has erred. For example I was refused PIP on transfer from DLA because the assessor wrote that I was able to attend an 'Art Class', they based all their opinions on the fact they because I could attend, it meant that I could socialise and navigate and dress myself well etc. Actually what I had written was that I attend Art THERAPY, a proper psychtherapy, in the hospital, ON MY OWN. Once I pointed that out, I was able to annihilate her opinions because they were based on in incorrect fact & the assumptions that she had then made about me (my assessment was done on the papers so I never spoke to her directly)

    I would strongly advise you to try and find a benefits advisor to help you with any appeal, your GP should know if there is support in your area. Good luck.

    Hey, I just split this off into it's own discussion as it was on a very old discussion and that was causing a little bit of confusion!
