Hello. I'm 47 soon to be 48. Currently on sabbatical from work due to a "bad" back. Mental health is crumbling slowly due to having to make some big decisions soon regarding work. Could do with a friendly ear as I've no one to talk to who understands.I feel very lonely despite the love and support I receive from my husband and my daughter.

Heya @VelmaD and welcome to the community.
I'm sorry to hear you're being affected so much by your health, I know it can't be easy if you have no one to talk to. But we're all here for you for support if you need us. Just ask and we'll all do our best to help. 😊

Can I just ask, have you mentioned your mental health issues to your GP? They may be able to offer some help.

Good morning, thank you for taking the time to reply to me. Ive never reached out before so was quite unsure what to write.

I've spoken to my GP and have medication that I take for depression. There is so much going on right now I feel like I'm drowning. I have an appointment with OH today and I am so anxious about it and I can't understand why. My employer is hinting strongly at me to take ill health retirement and my union rep is as well. I've so many phonecalls to make to LGPS, UC ESA etc to find out how it would affect my benefits. I need to phone unison too because I don't feel the rep has helped me at all and she has a close relationship with the HR lady. There's been no attempt at making reasonable adjustments for me to return to work at all just a brief mention of a chair that won't fit anywhere because the rooms are so small.

I'm sorry that all just kind of fell out of my head. 😔

Don't be sorry at all @VelmaD it's what we're here for and it's good to get things out of your head and written down, I know it often helps me. 😊 It sounds like you're juggling a lot of plates currently, so don't feel bad that it's having an impact on you, it would for anyone.

I'll be popping you a little email in a bit, so keep an eye out for it please.
