Advice on child DLA back payments
ok so, long story short I applied for a change in circumstances back in March for my child. Sent LOADS of evidence etc signed for royal mail.
Eventually it comes out the DWP have signed for it but lost it. They kept telling me not to worry about all this personal info being missing as it would be in the building. Not impressed.
They asked me to resend everything g and form and they would honour the original date I called up; 7th feb.
By the time they send me the new forms it was almost time for my renewal forms.
I returned the forms with a cover letter etc explaining and they made an almost immediate decision and award was increased however they are only paying from June 6th
Surely this isn’t fair and they can treat it as a renewal when they have admitted and I have proof that they were at fault?
Has anyone experienced similar and what happened?
thanks if you got this far!!

Ring them, (which ever benefit this is referring to) there should be information on the system of when you rang to report changes.

sorry, it was child dla. They have all the records but they’re acting as if it was a recent renewal and not an older change of circumstances.
