    Hello @Tephy, that's really frustrating. Sorry to hear you're struggling to get your medicines.

    Has your GP surgery been able to make any suggestions? Perhaps there are other pharmacies near you that might stock what you need.

    Hope you can get your meds sorted quickly!

    hi Rosie

    my gp is the dr and pharmacist, the meds are then delivered by the dispensary.

    Out in the countryside is great but not so good for health care.

    @Tephy

    Just to clarify are you having a problem getting to collect them yourself, or is it the pharmacy not being able to source them in the first place?

    So far so good, all digits crossed. I'm on Prednisolone, a steroid, which can't be stopped. If It is abruptly stopped, I go into adrenal crisis, which entails A+E, danger of death and so on. I know someone who has had to scour the city for a more common med for her ear. . She did find it. Also when I was prescribed codeine for pain there was a delay. "We have to get it from the warehouse."

    Ah I see @Tephy, that does make it difficult! My parents are quite rural too, the countryside can be so pretty to live in, but it's not always easy to get the supplies you need.

    You might have already seen, but I found this information on Diabetes UK about the shortages, it names a few of the drugs that might be in short supply at the moment. If you ever run too low to cope with your conditions, please don't be afraid to seek emergency care if you can!

    Has your GP been able to talk through any alternatives if they're unable to get hold of your usual medication? I'd understand if that's not an option for you, I know it can sometimes be difficult to manage making changes!

    the dispensary at the Drs are having difficulty getting the meds, all my controlled drugs like my opiates for pain are available.

    Lilly who supplies the insulin says there is a shortage and they have to control who gets what. I don't help being highly resistant to insulin, I am injecting 270 units a day just to maintain my blood sugars at an average of 10.4 mmol, any diabetis reading this will understand how high this is. A good friend who is also diabetic injects 14 units a day.

    my dr has tried most things and this is the best combination of drugs for me. I have a lot of medical conditions soI have to be careful, no over the counter meds. The chemist/pharmacist in or local Tesco said I would be ok with a cough medicine, 3 days later the hospital let me go home. I am a nightmare to pescribe for.

    Thanks to all for the replies and suggestions

    That's fair enough @Tephy, I know how hard it can be to find a balance with your medication when you're more of a complex case. Sorry you're having to go through these shortages, I'll keep my thinking cap on to see if I can come up with any further suggestions!
