LCWRA- does the three month wait get backdated

Hi
I’m seeking some advice. I have been inputting fit notes since the middle of 23. Lcwra is being paid this month but only one months worth though.
I was told it was awarded end of January. So question is will I get back dated pay for the months February, March, April and May?

1/ What date exactly did you provide your first fit note?

2/ What date do you usually receive your money each month?

3/ Did you provide fit notes the whole time without any gaps until a decision was made? Gaps in your fit notes can affect when the extra money is paid from.

I receive it on 30th every month

Yes I have provided constant fit notes since 28th July last year.

Thanks. You should have started receiving the extra money way before now. The waiting period starts from when you provided your first fit note, not from when the decision was made.

Can I ask you to please double check if 28th July was the actual date you provided your first fit note and not the date on the fit note.

If it was 28th July 2023 then your waiting period will be Aug/Sept, Sept/Oct, Oct/Nov 2023… LCWRA starts from assessment period 24th Nov to 23rd Dec and first payment would be 30th Dec 2023.

Put a message onto your journal under the payment section and ask them about the money they owe you for the LCWRA element. Remind them the exact date you provided your first fit note and tell them the waiting period starts from then and not from when the decision was made.

I’ve just checked my journal it was actually 26th July.

I think they are trying to sort of fob me off by saying it been awarded from February. I also did a telephone assessment in April.

So if they’re saying it’s awarded from this February and it’s actually last July how would I go about getting it backdated from last July? Would I have to appeal?

You first said it was awarded end of January but then said they did a telephone assessment in April. What was that assessment for? and what was awarded end of January?

Was this your first work capability assessment?

Sorry I meant LCWRA was awarded end of Jan as originally said not feb. And the April telephone call was for the work capability assessment.

Then as I advised in my previous comment your waiting period starts from when you provided your first fit note.

Your waiting period will be Aug/Sept, Sept/Oct, Oct/Nov 2023… LCWRA starts from assessment period 24th Nov to 23rd Dec and first payment would be 30th Dec 2023. The extra money isn’t paid at all during the waiting period.

Please have another read of my 2nd comment above that advises what you should do now.

Please also note that my advice is based on the information you gave.
