LCWRA Questions
if you are found to be entitled to LCWRA and single with no housing costs / dependents do you get any extra money if you can’t work? Or what rate do they deduct money if you can work part time limited hours (so long as it doesn’t contravene why you got in first place)? What are the differences if only LCW granted? I’m totally confused with all this and worrying endlessly about finances if I’m not fit to work.
Any help much appreciated
Thank you

If found to have LCWRA you will be entitled to an extra £414.16 from the 4th month after you provided your first fit note. You will also have no work commitments.
If found to have LCW there’s no extra money each month and you maybe expected to attended work focused interviews to prepare to work in the future.
If found to have either of those you will be entitled to the work allowance. This means if you work and receive earnings because you don’t claim for help with the rent then £673/month of earnings will be ignored. For every £1 over that amount your UC will reduce by 55p.

thank you Poppy for the easy to understand explanation. Sending off my UC50 today. I’m on limited hours as still trying to work and GP has given me a fit note for 3 months saying reduced hours but is happy to sign me off completely if I can’t cope. How do they assess what might contravene your award work wise? Do they ask you what you do daily in work? Thanks again

Yes they may ask what work you do. For all past assessments usually I’m ask questions on what a typical day is like for me.
