Reference
I've read through and realise this is a common question.…who can I use as references?
I have a very, very limited social bubble. I'm in touch with one ex-colleague, who has agreed to be a reference.
I'll need a second reference. The only people I'm in contact with are my partner, dad and one friend.
I don't have a landlord. I don't have a nurse/support worker. I'm not involved in any organisations. I don't volunteer. I don't have kids.
I guess I've isolated pretty hard! Can anyone suggest someone who could be my second reference?

Hi,
Are you referring to references for a job that you are interested in

Oh yes, I should've said that, sorry. Yes, I have seen a job I want to apply for, but I only have one ex-colleague who can give me a reference. I'll need at least one other reference.

Hi @cheddah! Do you have more than one previous job? It's normal to just put down their contact details as a reference even if you haven't contacted them. It's always nice to ask them first but don't worry if you can't 😊
If you only have one previous job then you can provide a personal/character reference, maybe your friend could do this?

Rachel I only have one job, but I had several managers whilst I was there. But this was 8 years ago, before I became unwell and I know the managers aren't there now

@cheddah, don't worry about those managers not being there. Their human resources (HR) department should have a record of when you worked there which they can put in a reference. You are allowed to have 2 references from the same workplace if they will not accept a personal/character reference.
Try and focus on the application first and the references can be dealt with later 😊
