WCA Video Assessment, Mental Health/Autism

Hi Scopers,

I've got a work capability assessment this morning by video, a huge relief as I thought I'd be waiting months (I sent my form off back in May!). I'm feeling abit anxious about it and I'm worried I'm not going to be understood by the assessor (I've got notes!). I was just wondering if anyone had any positive WCA that they could share? Just to calm my nerves/ encourage others etc. BTW, I'm applying for mental health reasons (I had to quit my job due to anxiety and depression/burn out). I've actually just started a 1 day a week job in admin (as I can work by myself if I need too/ my boss also has autism lol so empathises with me greatly!) so I am a bit worried about how that may affect things.

Thank youuuuu <3

Hi @worryworm95. Have you had the assessment yet? How did it go?

It's totally normal to be anxious about it, I was the same! Fantastic idea to have some notes 😊 I've been through the same as you, had to quit work due to anxiety and depression and had a WCA assessment. I had a lovely man who was very understanding and I had my husband with me for support. I really hope yours goes well.

Great news about getting the admin job! I started that way too, just one day a week at first and then gradually built it up and now I'm working 4 days a week in this wonderful role! Take things a day at a time and you'll be amazed what you'll achieve 😊

Love the term Scopers by the way, I might use it!

Hi @Rachel_Scope! Yes I had it, basically it ended up being a phone call as the video platform wasn't working for the nurse. Fortunately my form was also very detailed (Autism!) so she didn't have to ask too many questions. A positive experience!
