Hi, my name is Shawny!
I'm looking for advice..My husband ane I are claiming UC. I have been on long term sick for 2.5 years. My husband hasn't worked for 5 Years. We only started claiming when I was taken ill and couldn't do my job. After losing my pension 5 years ago, I have had news that I'm getting compensation. We have struggled financially during this time. We want go abroad for stem cell treatment (I have long covid. My husband has CKD, Fibromyalgia, CFS to name a few ). We have been researching the treament for the past year and its very effective. All we want is our life back and good health. When I receive this payout ( 3 months approx, we will be over the £16,000 threshold, for a while) with paying for the treatment and a few debts paid off, no money will be wasted. Will we be ok to go back onto UC, will they accept the money being used to pay for this treatment? This is the only chance we have of creating a normal life. In the past we have spent thousands of pounds seeking help or advice to improve my husbands health and our quality of life.

Hi @Shawny! Welcome to the community 😊 I'm sorry you've been struggling. The stem cell treatment sounds interesting. It's not something I know much about.
I've just moved your post to our Universal Credit category where you will hopefully find some help.
