Christmas is creeping up!

I know it's early but some of us love the Christmas season and preparing for it 😋

I have five Grandchildren and it's always a struggle at Christmas to find what they want. Ages range from 14 - 7 years old. Half the things they're into, I've never heard of! It was easy when I only had one or two but now with five, it gets harder each year. I used to spend a fortune on computers, mobile phones, consoles etc but within the year, most of these things were broke so I stopped doing that a few years ago. And instead of sending a hundred things each for Christmas morning, I decided to do something which I call the 'eighteen days of Christmas'. Which means, starting on the 18th Dec, they get a bundle of gifts each morning (usually three things) and they get these right up until Christmas morning when they get their main gift. But their main gift isn't anything expensive now. It actually works out cheaper for us, and the kids enjoy it more. It stops them getting over excited and sick of waiting for Santa 🤣 I started doing this a few years ago and the kids all loved it! Some of the stuff in their little packages were just cheap things like finger puppets or socks, a colouring book or a game. But I make it so they get something to wear, something to play with, and something to eat. I used to have them all on Christmas eve to give all their gifts but now with five of them, and their parents, it's too much as my house is only small.

Anyone else do something different for their kids/Grandkids? And have you started yet? 😁

@Teddybear123 I used to do that, wait till the last minute then panic buy lol. I don't buy for nephews and nieces now and my brothers don't buy for us or my little family. We send cards and wishes etc but there's just too many of them now.

I should probably do things early on to help with managing it all but I just don't want to think about Christmas this early 😂 I think this is a great idea though @Venus_Cee, I'll need to think about it myself

Lol the shops always begin stocking shelves for Christmas in August so it's not too soon to be talking about it!

It's not my birthday quite yet! I'm a July baby and Christmas cannot be even thought of till after! Not that I have anything much to think of - many nephews and niieces and indeed great-nephews and great-nieces but we don't get each other presents.
