What's your favourite meal?

Mine has to be stuffed crust pizza with crispy chips and lots of mayo πŸ˜‹

Oh, that's difficult. So many options…

I think it might be Chicken Katsu curry.

Haha @Sandy_123! That's ok if you can't choose just one. I must say I'm partial to a yorkshire pudding, roasted carrots and parsnips, crispy and fluffy roast potatoes and lots of beef gravy. I'm making myself so hungry!

@Jimm_Scope I had to look up what that was. My palette is not very refined πŸ˜‚

@Teddybear123 ooh good choice. I always have lots of Yorkshire puddings on mine being a Yorkshire girl!

Being a working class Londoner I love pie & mash! Pie and mash shops are few and far between these days but fortunately I also love fish and chips!

@Teigr great choice. My husband loves a veggie spag bol. Do you have garlic bread with it? I'm obsessed with garlic bread πŸ˜‚

@JessieJ What Chinese food would you recommend? It's not something I ever eat.

Ooh @Steve_in_The_City pictures aren't helping my hunger πŸ˜‚ I can't say I've ever had proper pie and mash, I guess I'm missing out!

Oh this is far too tough. But I do love a good chilli con carne, with rice and soured cream. Or pancakes with lemon and sugar.

Too many options! Mature cheese and pickle sandwich with loads of butter on warm crusty French bread would be ideal. With some crisps on the side. πŸ˜‹

Or a buffet with loads of different things that you can mix and match.

Or just a plate of roasties. Roast dinners are the best.

    Or chip shop chips.

So basically, everything, but mostly potatoes. 😁

I'll be honest @Albus_Scope I've never had chili con carne! Maybe I'm missing out.

Oh @Rosie_Scope a girl after my own heart ❀️ Potatoes are amazing right!? Have you ever had a roast potato butty? Life-changing.

Let's not get into the Great potato debate of 2023 again @Rosie_Scope !

@Rachel_Scope a good chilli con carne is life changing. But a bad one is terrible.

I've not @Rachel_Scope, but that's something I will definitely have to try!

Those were controversial times, @Albus_Scope. All potato is good potato!

I love garlic bread @Rachel_Scope but I couldn't eat it with pasta;it's too filling.

There's always room for garlic bread @Teigr πŸ˜‚

Rachel makes a very valid point. Some people have "dessert stomachs" so they can ALWAYS find room for dessert, I have a garlic bread stomach.

Exactly @Albus_Scope! I actually had garlic bread for lunch πŸ˜‚

You guys seem to love garlic bread so here is a recipe that is a tad different:

Spread a tortilla wrap liberally with real butter. Ensure the butter is real. Scatter over a generous amount of garlic granules and dried parsley. Top with an unhealthy amount of grated cheese - your choice but for me a mixture of mozzarella and strong cheddar works perfectly fine. Put another wrap on top, more butter, more garlic, more parsley and guess what? More cheese! Bung it in a hot oven for about 10 minutes and don't forget to mention me in your wills!

@Rachel_Scope, it depends what your tastes are. I enjoy a decent takeaway with the usual fayre right through to the pricier restaurant tastes. Chinese steamboat, which is actually cook yourself really, out comes a big pot of tasty Chinese stock, that gets better as you cook various meat & seafood, veg, noodles & is really enjoyable with friends/family. Lobster Beijing is delish. Dim sum is tasty bites of goodness, can be steamed, deep fried, pan fried & contain all sorts of flavours, meats, seafood & veg. Some dishes maybe not so popular are the different things like chicken feet, duck webs & I've also had duck tongues. Sounds awful, but really good.

There's hot & spicey or more ginger & garlicky. From a takeaway, I'd say good simple dishes are chop suey, which is beansprouts, other veggies & meat/prawns or chow mein, which is noodle based, veg, meats… They make a nice one dish dinner.

Oh & I love a good pancake roll!
