Pip and change of circumstances

Hello everyone! I’m new hear.

Hoping someone may know if what I heard today is good news?

I already get standard pip for both after spinal surgery in Nov 23 and in April 24 have had half my lung removed ( Lobectomy) so called and have applied for higher rate as obviously things are a lot worse. Today they said on the phone I don’t need an assessment and I’ll hear after 5 weeks and it’s only been 4. I’m guessing this isn’t necessarily good news it could be it has stayed the same? However I’d like to think as I sent in a lot of evidence it’s good news? Thank you 😊

You will need to wait for the decision letter, which can take up to 2 weeks. It would be impossible to speculate anything at this stage. You can also try ringing PIP tomorrow to ask what the decision is and they maybe able to tell you.

    Thank you Poppy.

I did call today and that’s when they said you don’t need an assessment but should have a decision in about a week.
it’s just I though everyone has an assessment even if it’s a change of circumstances but obviously not. It’s just so worrying and such a lot wait I wondered if anyone else had the same.
it doesn’t mean it’s good news I assume.
thank you for your reply 😊

Most people have assessments but paper based assessments are possible. I'm afraid you will need to wait until that decision is made.
