Hi, my name is Buggsy70! Why wont I get backpay after a PIP reassessment?
Hi my son as been on pip for few years but only got the low rate he as been waiting nearlly 2 years for is assessment we had phone call 8 weeks ago and today I called them and they said he as been awarded enhanced on both and he will get is payment on is next pip date so I asked the man will it not be back dated from when he claimed as nothink as changed from day one he said only been given from when decision was made surely this is wrong so i said can i appeal and man said he will do a mandatory xx as any one else been in same situation thanks

Hey @Buggsy70 and welcome to the community.
I'm afraid backpay is only given if it's either a fresh claim or you'd put in a change of circumstances. If it's just a review, you'll only get the new payments from the next payment date.Having a mandatory reconsideration (MR) wouldn't change that fact. Did the person on the phone definitely say they would do a MR? As this wouldn't change if you got back pay or not, so I'm a bit confused as to why they'd suggest that. Maybe someone else has some ideas?

essay man said he would do a manadority as he said they only paid from when disision was made and I said that's not fare his renewal date come up over year ago he was on low rate but theve put him on high on both which should been from the start as his symptoms have been same from day one and they no this I just think unfair just giveing him it from when they made a disision
