Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is not classified as an active psychotic disorder, but it can involve periods of transient, stress-related psychotic-like symptoms. These episodes are usually brief and less intense compared to those seen in primary psychotic disorders like schizophrenia.

    Key Differences:

    1. Core Symptoms of BPD: BPD is characterized by intense emotional instability, fear of abandonment, unstable interpersonal relationships, impulsivity, and a fluctuating self-image. While BPD may involve brief psychotic experiences, these are not the primary feature of the disorder.
    2. Psychotic Symptoms in BPD:
      • People with BPD may experience dissociation, which can feel like detachment from reality or feeling emotionally numb.
      • They may have paranoid ideation, particularly during times of severe stress or interpersonal conflict. For example, a person may feel unrealistically suspicious or paranoid about others' intentions.
      • Hallucinations or delusions can occur but are typically temporary, unlike the persistent symptoms seen in psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia.
    3. Duration and Nature of Psychosis:
      • In BPD, these psychotic-like experiences are usually brief, lasting minutes to hours, and they are often tied to emotional stress or interpersonal situations.
      • In contrast, active psychotic disorders like schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder involve longer, sustained periods of psychosis, which significantly impair functioning and reality testing.

    Conclusion:

While BPD can involve transient psychotic symptoms, it is not considered an active psychotic disorder. Psychosis in BPD is typically brief and related to stress, whereas active psychotic disorders are defined by more persistent and severe detachment from reality.

I qualify under a few remaining descriptors but it's interesting that if I didn't.…

that they would be quite happy for myself and then to be at risk of injury (me) verbal aggression (to them) potential breakages to nearby items just because I'm not "active" UNLESS ironically they activated me by ignoring that.

    you couldn't make it up

Yes I'm putting myself back in stubborn, defiant and ignoring it all mode and see if I have to fold the claim on the 30th and if so when, because I'm not having any change in my life or routine

If these things end up happening it will kill me because I will not be able to cope with working or living a different kind of lifestyle where I'm regularly exposed to situations that I find really distressing and make me suicidal. I am genuinely unable to mentally force myself to live that kind of a life, it wont even be a choice.

So when my money gets stopped or cut so much that I cannot survive I will slowly starve to death, either because of not being able to afford food or because of purposely eating less and less over time until I'm barely eating anything at all and die of malnourishment, and I will welcome that as I will not be able to cope mentally at all, I will lose the car because of not being able to afford to run it anymore which will make me completely housebound, unable to ever leave the house, my electricity and gas will be cut off because of not being able to pay the bills, and I'll be worried sick about being taken to court because of not being able to pay the council tax anymore.

Ross, you won't because we will all help each other cope with the uncertainty and change. You won't be left penniless or forced into work. It's going to be harder for us to live autonomously but not impossible. Have faith in our forum, disabled community and yourself 💜

Same for me, I need 3 things to survive, my dog, my home of 16 years and my car to not be housebound so I look after my dog properly and walk her where she can run and live a happy dog's life. My LCWRA & PIP mean I can manage to pay for all 3, I don't have anything left over, I don't have holidays or buy new clothes, but I don't need to, so it's ok.

If I can't have a car I can't have my dog, I want her to have a good life, I won't be responsible for making her live her whole life with the same walk everyday. If they take LCWRA, I won't be able to afford a car, so I can't keep my dog, I don't want to live if I don't have my dog, because I have nothing else, no friends or family. If they take PIP aswell as LCWRA then I won't be able to afford the house either, but then if my dog's gone I'll be gone already I guess.

    The whole thing is insane.
