Scottish welfare grant
Hi I'm looking for advice , I fleed due to domestic violence and now in different country . I've recently been offered a new home and applied for welfare grant for furniture and white goods as only left with close for my son. I just wondering how long it takes after if its awarded will it take for furniture carpets ect to be sorted as it's not awarded in a cash grant the council order what has been awarded. As I've now signed tenancy but can't move in as I have nothing and still in womens aid refuge . Any advice would be appreciated

Hi there,
I'm really sorry to hear about what you've been through, and it's great that you've secured a new home. Regarding your query, the process and timing can vary, but councils usually aim to provide the items as soon as possible once the grant is approved. It might be helpful to contact the council directly for a more specific timeline.
Wishing you and your son all the best.
