Do you think the licence fee should be scrapped
It is not about time that we stopped paying the tv licence fee. That money could go to other things. The BBC should be forced to stand on their own two feet instead of making people pay for their failure

I agree

I hate commercial breaks in the middle of programs, losing track of what was happening and find many of them triggering. I don't mind paying not to see them on BBC channels tbh. But I do feel the licence fee is too high now, and also that it shouldn't be forced upon people simply for owning a TV.

Absolutely. It's ridiculous in this day and age.

I agree. I hardly watch the BBC these days. I watch other channels for the News including channels like Euro News. Shows like Doctor Who would be better sold off.

The licence fee would be acceptable if there were decent programs to watch - however with so many repeats - definitely not - and with salaries of so called "stars" being so ridiculously high - again - NO !!
And especially not with the Hugh Edwards events of recent weeks - BBC should be forced to explain why, not only was Edwards paid throughout the legal proceedings - but he had a £40,000 pay rise, which increases his pension even higher (yes, there is nothing to stop him from claiming his pension or even an enhanced ill health pension, still.)
His pension pot is approximately £4 million - all from licence payers.
This makes me sick.

At the very least I think the companies they contract out to "investigate" should be reigned in. I've heard some horrible stories about the way they've acted towards people.

Television is as outdated as paper newspapers. This is an ordinary propaganda tool, which means whoever orders the propaganda must pay.
