I had a pip assessment, received a letter saying they had everything they needed so I gave them a call for an update to be told the case manager has handed it back to the AP (assessment provider) has anyone else experienced this or know why this has happened.

Thank you!

It happens sometimes but not often. It maybe that there's things in the report that need to be queried but I can't only guess what the reason is. The only downside is that it can delay the decision being made.

    Welcome to the community @ker.

I haven't experienced this myself but just wanted to say hi. Hopefully one of our members has experienced the same thing and can share their thoughts.

That’s perfectly normal and they are standard letters. A decision can take up to 12 weeks after the assessment report was returned.
