Just would like some help on understanding what will happen with lcwra claim please

hi I’m new to this. I already receive pip I have been for around 2 years now and iv only just applied for lcwra as I wasn’t sure if I could get so I I stopped giving I. Sick notes back 05/03/21 would this mean il get back dated if I get awarded this? Also iv waited 2 months already can someone give me some information on this thank you

You are supposed to continue to provide fit notes until a decision is made on your work capability assessment. As you stopped providing them then this can affect when the extra money is paid from if you're found to have LCWRA.

What exactly have you waited 2 months for? A referral? an assessment after returning the form? or a decision because you've already had the assessment?

I had sent over a years worth of sick notes and uc had told me then to stop sending them in as I could of still done so but was told that I didn’t need no more sent in and I sent the from back on the 22/05/2024 I was told I’m waiting for a decision. I’m not sure what will happen as iv been told I’m ment to have a phone call but I was also told if I get high rate mobility then I wouldn’t have to have the assignment over the phone I just don’t know what’s happening

Do you have proof that you were told to stop sending them? Your PIP award doesn't automatically entitle you to LCWRA.

yes on the uc and i have over 2 years of sick note I think they have personally messed up with me iv not had assignment yet and iv been told once there’s a decision has been made I will be updated so im therefore thinking im not having a assignment is this true

That's a long time to wait for an assessment. It's correct that once a decision is made you will be contacted but that doesn't mean you won't need an assessment. Most people have them but paper based assessments are possible.

I'm afraid I have no idea. When did you return the UC50 form? It can take anything up to 6 months, sometimes longer after returning that form.

I'd advise you to start sending fit notes again because there will be issues when working out when the extra money is paid from if found to have LCWRA.

2 years is a long time to be sending fit notes. Is this your first work capability assessment?

yes its my first time as I didn’t know to do it in the past
