Hi, my name is Sues62! Struggling with stairs at work, only allowed SSP. Where do I stand legally?
Hi simple question My office is upstairs and I am really struggling to get up them and down. causes me severe pain. I could have office downstairs but problem is the toilets downstairs are so far away and there are no disabled toilets. but at least the toilet upstairs near my office is larger than the small cubby toilets downstairs so I have room to move, I am finding it harder and harder every day and some days after making it up the stairs I'm in tears by the time I get halfway. they have just stopped company sick pay so it is SSP so I can't afford to go off sick. where do I stand ? pardon the pun. I have osteoarthritis stage 3/4 in both knees plus other issues. fibromyalgia, IIH a few autoimmune diseases and severe sleep apnea. I struggle to walk a few steps and the stairs are killing me. but at least I have a toilet near my office.

Hey @Sues62 and welcome to the community.
I'm sorry to hear the steps are causing you so much pain, I can empathise. Have you spoken to your manager about the issues you're having? You're allowed to ask for reasonable adjustments to be put in place to make things easier for you at work.0
