Do people think, in their view, that I’ll get an APA request accepted? I come under Tier 1 factors
I’ve always known this information, that they put autistic people like me under “1.2 Learning difficulties including literacy or numeracy” in Tier 1 factors. That really does favour me, I’ve always known that. But others on this forum, do you agree with my optimism that I’ll get an APA when my time comes to apply for this “monthly” 🤮🤮 UC?
I really like being on ESA / Employment Support Allowance right now, even if it doesn’t pay out as much as I’ll be entitled to receive on UC. It’s the monthly structure 😡 I get nightmares about, that I dread thinking about. I don’t know what on earth they were thinking when they invented UC, that trying to forcing monthly payments on all claimants is a good thing. I know I don’t have the capabilities the DWP seek to cope with monthly payments. Fortnightly brings that peace of mind to me.
I get £318.20 every fortnight as it stands, I’d be getting just over £400 every fortnight if I was on UC right now and an APA was also in place for me. I really do believe that I’ll get an APA if the UC staff listen to the guidance that they’re meant to take into consideration.
Do others believe in their view that I’ll get an APA? When all of this monthly payment stuff, I just feel like going into rant mode. Angers me and scares me that much. 😡😱😱😱

Monthly payment stuff enters my head*

I had this small hope in me that Labour 🌹🔴 would delay the move of ESA only claimants like me to the “monthly” 🤮🤧 UC. My hope hasn’t obviously turned into the news I had hoped for, the letters will be coming out from autumn 🍂.
Yeah I will be getting more on UC, I’ll be receiving more on UC than my current entitlement on Employment and Support Allowance. But it’s the monthly pay. Monthly, monthly, monthly! 🤮🤧
Think I’ve posted a few rants before in regards to this. I don’t have the abilities to cope with the monthly frequency. I don’t handle money the best, I don’t handle it all that well.I do have the confidence in me, I am confident that that I’ll get an APA. But it’s not my decision. The UC staff better listen to their own guidance when making their decision.

When I’m bad with my nerves over the monthly pay, the severe autism that I have, it’s no wonder I can’t control myself, doing rants.
I’ll be getting more money 💶 on UC ✅. I’m in the support group on ESA and get the disability premium too.
I won’t have to go through a work capability as part of my move to UC, they won’t put me through one of those ✅
Monthly pay ❌❌❌❌❌ (booooooo) 😭😢🥺🤮😡0 -
I have done my research, I have known for time that I can ask for an APA, that I am in Tier 1 factors. Those in Tiers 1 are more likely to get an APA. I know that the monthly standard allowance (for being single and being over 25 years old) and the amount you get for having LCWRA is more than the total I get now on ESA.
It’s just the single monthly lump sum that’s wholly bothersome to me.

As I advised a few times on your previous threads, there shouldn't be any problems.

I don’t mean to bother anyone at all with my worries, especially you Poppy. I hope you don’t find it annoying, the worry I’ve displayed. It is normal to be worried about something even if you get lots of encouraging words that things will be fine.
I am severely autistic as well it’s worth remembering. I have this habit in my life, writing about things over and over again.
I appreciate your words Poppy, know you’ve given positive words before. Thank you.

You’re a big contributor to this forum and answer so many people’s queries, the forum really appreciates you Poppy, I am sure of that 👍👍👍✅✅✅.

Thanks for sharing such kind words about Poppy @ChrisSCOPEhtfc94.
We do understand how stressful change can be for people, especially when it comes to their finances. Are you feeling a little more reassured now?

Oops, I commented but forgot to click "post comment" 🙄
Thank you for such kinds words!!

I just want the change to work how I want it to work when the time comes - more money I’ll get yes 🙌👍 but I absolutely need an APA to be granted for me, 100%. Goodness knows why the DWP want to force monthly frequencies on everybody. We can’t all be expected to manage our finances to suit the DWP’s agenda. If we don’t the ability to cope with a monthly lump sum payment we just don’t. It’s a good thing that APAs exist, I just need to be granted one when the time of me moving across over comes around. The fortnightly frequency I’ve always been used to and I’ve been on income related ESA for a long time. It’s no surprise I don’t want monthtly payments.

You are most welcome Poppy 👊👍.

Poppy is deserving of any praise she gets @Adrian_Scope. I see her contributing to so many threads, she looks to help out with any queries, to the best of her ability.

If you don’t mind me asking @Adrian_Scope, what are your opinions on monthly UC payments? You know how much I’m not in favour of the whole structure - they are incredibly, incredibly daunting.

Hey chris
Just thought I'd add on. So I moved six years ago and back then they outright stopped my money (esa support group) when I got to my new home they stopped it and I applied for uc. Now they are transferring people without them losing money or even having to go through another assesment (if on esa support group)
I had no money for ages maybe 7 week. My mum and brother supported me and my son.
It's a lot easier for people who have to transfer now.
Anyhow. Being switched over was the best thing for me (at first very upset like you) Now it's just a lot better.
I get uc on the 12th, my mum pays my bills, pays gas and electric for a month and does a big shop in aldi. Whatever is left (which is enough) will last me 4 weeks when I've already paid everything.
I'm not sure what an APB is sorry. But do you have a carer like me who can help and make sure you don't spend what you don't need too?
I've had brain surgery three times and a massive brain bleed. My mum carries my card around and everything. My brain is just broken. This has took me an hour to write.
Please don't be afraid chris and at least you won't need a new assesment like I did when I applied for uc when I moved here and I'd only just had one with esa a few months before. So I had 2 one for esa and one for uc within the same year.
Good luck chris and try not to worry to much.
Regards sam

APA = Alternative Payment Arrangement. See link.

I appreciate your optimism Sam. I am also aware that I will not have to go through another workability assessment. That’s very good. HOWEVER, if the government really think that I can just move away from a fortnightly structure to monthly structure and cope with it just like that, then they’re VERY MUCH mistaken. I will only be happy with more frequent payments than the sickly, sickly (10 sicklies) monthly frequency. In my world, ONLY fortnightly works for me.

APA stands for Alternative Payment Arrangement Sam, as Poppy pointed out to you in her reply. I will
UNDOUBTEDLY
be requesting one. Being given a paymentFORTNIGHTLY
