Migration from ESA SUPPORT to UC
Hi all.. newby here
Im really concerned for my wife as I get carers allowance for her. She has multiple medical issues. spinal, physical and mental. We have been told to migrate to UC. My wife is claiming ESA SUPPORT. She has now been told that she has to attend a WORK FOCUSED INTERVIEW. We was led to believe that once they have the sick note and info from DWP has been passed across that she would be placed in a group where they dont require her to look for work and not required to go to anymore interviews. So my question is
Is this correct from UC? that she will now have to attend work focus interview ? is she not placed automatically ito the support esa ?
I really dont know how to help her anymore. Its like the wolfs are at our door. I am afraid they will do irreparable damage to her by scaring her to work.
any advice would be great

As she was in the Support Group for ESA she'll be entitled to the LCWRA element from the start of your claim. A fit note wasn't needed and she will not need another work capability assessment but it can take anything up to a few weeks for ESA to send her information to UC.
Once that is done your claim will be updated and her commitments will be changed to reflect the LCWRA element.
As this is a new claim it's standard procedure to have to attend an appointment. She can ask for a reasonable adjustment for a telephone appointment if she's unable to attend. She'll need to put a message onto her journal to ask for this.

Thank you for your reply, i really appreciate your time and effort.
She has had two appointments. one for ID and one to show her about her commitments.
The fella said that she will have to attend a work focus interview and have a PIP style one. she has to fill a form in about disability and how it affects her.
When all the time we are saying to him…"but she's in the support group ESA"

Tell her to put a message onto her journal and tell them that she's in the Support Group for ESA. Once they have the information from ESA her claim will be updated.
it's extremely frustrating that they do not have that information to hand even for managed migration.

we have left a message and they say they are waiting for the info back from DWP.
It seems they like to use the time gap to book appointments, job centre visits, give you little info and like you to think you have to jump through hoops and accept commitments that don't apply to you . All of it unnecessary stress to what should be straight forward transaction.
Thank you @poppy123456 for you help and info. Absolute Star X
