*POSSIBLE TRIGGER WARNING AS MY POST IS ABOUT HOSPITALS, BLOOD TESTS AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND MMR VACCINE*

Hi, everyone, earlier this year (around March or April) I applied to become a volunteer at my local hospital, but by June I was feeling like they'd forgotten about or were ignoring me, so I emailed the volunteer team via the volunteering app I have on my phone. Then around the middle of July, I received a very apologetic email from a member of the volunteering team saying that they hadn't forgotten about me as lots of people had been off sick including the person who had emailed me.

I had my first appointment at the occupational health centre on Tuesday just gone to have some bloods taken so that they can check if I've had the MMR vaccine, but both of my arms were refusing to share, so the lady who I had the appointment with had to send me to the bloods room in the main hospital building as they would be best to get the blood out.

I received a text from the occupational health team saying that I've got an appointment with another lady occupational therapist so that she can give me my first MMR vaccine. My appointment is Tuesday 13th August.

I'm really happy that my hospital volunteering is going well.

So glad they'd not forgotten about you @BrianMcFaddenfan24 and I'm glad they've got the ball rolling now with your MMR vaccine. It's great you're so happy!

Ty @Albus_Scope I've wanted to volunteer at my local hospital for a while as I have had 2 lovely experiences at my local hospital myself and there was a lovely lady nurse who was looking after my late dad and listening to him talking about my middle niece or as my late dad called her "my princess" as they both loved each other.

My niece has a photo tile on her bedroom wall of herself, her mum (my youngest sister), momma (my former sister-in-law) and her granddad.

Whenever she wants to look at photos on my phone she says "see" and points at my phone as she knows I have a few photos of her granddad on my phone.

You needed MMR? I'm guessing you're in the younger range though of course I might be wrong because I being an older sort of person had the lot - mumps, measles and rubella (German measles) - as a child. Maybe it wears off.

And I'm so glad in these days of horrid stories you've had lovely experiences at your local hospital.

@Cantilip I'm 41 and my mum said that she thought I'd had all of my vaccines when I was little back in the 80s and early 90s.

She did tell me that me n my middle sister had German measles when we were little.
