UC Review
Hi,
Hope you can help please. My son has a physical disability and uses a wheelchair. I’m his appointee for his PIP. I have been saving his money for years for his future and to buy things for him such as a car.
I had my UC review recently and requested bank statements from that account which I was taking money out for him to pay for things.
The money in that account is not my money it’s my sons pip money that’s been saved. Is there anyway I can prove this to UC? Or will they stop my payments?
Kind regards
Worried Mum

Sadly, if the account is in your name, it's counted as your money. 😞

Hi @Worriedmum3367, welcome to our community 😊 We can certainly try to give advice on what has possibly happened.
Could we just confirm is the account holder of this specific account you, or your son?
It's probably best we just 100% confirm what that is! Is it also the account all his benefits pay into? And does anything else pay into that account other than his benefits?

I find this quite a diplomatic answer as I'm also my son's pip oppointee so they asking me if I have his savings in my account . But if I was personnelly recieving UC then automatically that money is mine not my son's as that money is in my account.. confussing
