The disability Premium of £42.50/week (single person) should automatically be paid and you don't have to apply for that.

If it's the Severe disability Premium (£81.50/week single person) you're talking about then yes this should be paid from when you became entitled to it. For this you must live alone or be treated as living alone (no other adults living with you) unless they are either registered blind or claim a qualifying disability benefit theirself. No one must be claiming either carers allowance or carers element of UC for looking after you.

The only other disability premium payable is the Enhanced and you will not be entitled to this because when claiming Income Support you must be claiming Enhanced daily living PIP.

Yes, they can take any money you owe them from any money they owe you.

yeah he asked bout eyesight impairment and hearing and me n the kids done have any of that n no one cares for me either so it’s 42.50 a week ? Would the backdated money come straight to me or my loans with income support do you know

You are confused by my advice. The £42.50/week is the disability premium and that should automatically be included.

It's the Severe disability Premium you may qualify for if you're not living with any other adults, if you do live with other adults (over 18) then they must either be registered blind or claim a qualifying disability benefit. If you don't live with any other adults then it's the SDP that you'll be entitled to. This is £81.50/week.

Yes, they can take any money you owe them from any money they owe you.

You can't apply Severe disability Premium if you have UC?

No because it's not payable when claiming UC. It's only payable when claiming the old legacy benefits such as Income Related ESA/JSA and Income Support. This thread is about Income Support so it does apply here.

Yes, I know it applies to Income Support, that's why I advised Agulu that your thread was related to Income Support and not UC.
