Changing PIP payment over to someone else
Hi all,
I have been my eldest son's Guardian since he was a child so his PIP went into my account, he moved out last week and moved in with his partner.
I want to change the money over to my son, is it just a case of phoning PIP and giving them my son's name and bank details?
Or is it a lot more complicated than that?
Looking forward to any replies
All the best
Denny

Hi @Denny1972!
You'll need to contact PIP to report the changes. Here are the numbers
PIP enquiry line
Telephone: 0800 121 4433
Textphone: 0800 121 4493
Relay UK (if you cannot hear or speak on the phone): 18001 then 0800 121 4433
British Sign Language (BSL) video relay service if you’re on a computer - find out how to use the service on mobile or tablet
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Here's some more information about making changes
I hope it's a simple process when you call them! Let us know if you need anything else 😊

Sounds like you are his appointee so you will need to request that the appointee is removed from his claim before payments will be made to him. He will then be responsible for his own claim.
It may not be as simple as @Rachel_Scope indicated though.
