I lived in my old house for 30 years and moved 3 years ago last year my son committed suicide and now the council have decided I owe 4year for bedroom tax from the old house

That’s a lot to deal with. So sorry for your loss, I struggle with depression and suicide attempts (not made any in 10years). How are you doing in yourself?
Councils can be really difficult to deal with, if you find it hard and they are not understanding, your local MP might be able to speak to or lean on them.0 -
@Charmaine49 I'm so sorry to hear about your son. I can't being to imagine how difficult that was for you. Have the council explained exactly why you owe them the bedroom tax? If it does have to be repaid you should be able to go on a payment plan and just pay what you can afford. I've paid £5 a month before for something similar.
