Hi, my name is SusanJessica1! Diverticular Disease, not putting on any weight since a hospital visit
I'm 64 and live in County Durham.
I was diagnosed with Diverticular Disease in March 2024 when I ended up in Hospital after first being diagnosed with a severe UTI but the Antibiotics didn't take the pain away from the right side of my stomach so i took myself to the doctors who then sent me straight to the Hospital, I only waited for 10 mins to see the doctor and was then given Morphine for the pain and put on a drip, the next thing I remember is being taken to the ward and then for a CT scan, the CT scan showed I had a large a Abscess on my Large Colon and Diverticulitis, I was very ill and stayed in hospital for a week having nothing but sips of water and medication, the thing is I lost a stone in weight and its now 6 months later and I havent lost any more weight but neither have I put any weight on so it's worrying me a bit and was wondering if anyone else has had this happen ?

Hey there @SusanJessica1 and welcome to the community.
I'm sorry to hear about your hospitalisation, that can't have been easy for you. It'll take time for your body to recover as that's quite a lot to go through. Have you spoken to your GP about the weight loss? I'd say they'd be your first port of call/0 -
Hi and thank you.
To be honest I didn't even think about asking my Dr but I will now thank you.
