Hi, my name is wendz62! I just need to know when I will get my first LCWRA payment?
WCA Decision OutcomeLCWRA awarded from : 26/04/2024WCA Date : 13/08/2024Prognosis 16 months, (4 months from effective date 26/04/2024 to medical assessment plus 12 months prognosis, rounded in customers favour). So they gave you 4 months + 12 months = 16 months in total - but you will still need to wait for the cooling off period to lapse and then you will get 16 months of LCWRA payments.
can someone please explain this as it makes no sense to me I just need to know when I will get my first payment
Thank you

Hi @wendz62 and welcome to the community.
Your first payment usually happens on the 4th payment cycle, which they call the cooling off period. When was the first fit note handed in and were there any breaks in them at all? And when's your usual payment? That'll help us work out the LCWRA payment date. 😊0 -
Hi and thank you,
First fit note was submitted on the 26/04/24
My payment date is the 23rd of each month

Oh my goodness me, my mind boggles reading that message you had from UC. I've heard of some complete nonsense but that's potentially the worst advice I've ever seen in all the years I've been advising.
Cooling off period? Never heard of such a thing.
Now I'll give you the correct advice. 😊 Your waiting period will be as follows…. May/June, June/July, July/August.. LCWRA starts from assessment period 17th August to 16th September and first payment will be 23rd September. No LCWRA element is owed.
If you or a partner were receiving earnings since you provided your first fit note and you didn't previously have the work allowance you will be owed some money from that.
Please also note, the advice you were given about the end date of the LCWRA element is also incorrect. LCWRA is an ongoing award until a new decision says otherwise. Your payments will not just stop. Hope this helps.

You're welcome. I'm really not surprised, it's confusing enough anyway and then you get that advice from UC 🙄
