New to this group - grant for a bed help please
Hi everyone
My name is Ann
Hope you are doing well today. Has I am new I am looking for advice on getting a mobility grant for a bed that I need, I can't lay flat because of my COPD at the moment I have lots of pillow
I would like your advice on how to proceed with this application. Thank you.

A mobility grant for a bed? Which grant is that please? I've not heard of this before.

Not completely sure if you can get it from the local council or a charity that help people with disabilities.

I don't know of any grants available for help with beds. You can speak to your local Authority and they may have some funds from the Household Support Fund. However, this is due to end at the end of September so they may not have much funding left but always worth a try.

I'm wandering if this could be something you could get help with through an occupational therapist? My elderly mum had an assessment from an OT which was arranged through adult social services. She has been assessed as needing a hospital bed which they will supply. It's an adjustable type bed where the head moves upwards .

Yes, I agree with what others have said. I'd recommend reaching out to your local authority. It's possible they can do an assessment on the whole house and sort out adjustments you haven't even considered!
