Child dla change of full time parent.
hi everyone. My son claims dla and has recently came to live with me, I’m his dad. His mum made the dla claim and receives the payments etc. so we’re now wanting to change this to my name, address and new bank details.
Can she call the helpline and agree to transfer his dla claim to myself, as I’m now his full time parent.
How does this work and would it entail his claim being restarted and having to re-apply. Hope I’ve explained correctly.

Yes, she will need to contact DLA. I'm not sure of the process exactly but his claim will not need to be restarted.

Hello @dannydanny. His mum can call and change the bank account she wishes for the DLA to be paid into, it doesn't have to be her account. As Poppy said she can also change you to being the named party on the account but I'm not 100% sure of the process for this either.
