PIP review average wait?
Hi I've just received my PIP review form. I have an extension letter for July 25 but the review says my award runs out in October 24 on the original date. It's stressful enough that my form has to be completed and returned in less than 3 weeks but this extra confusion is making me feel quite anxious. I haven't been through a review before so I don't know what happens if I have to wait a long time for this to be processed. If my award 'ends' before they get around to looking at it will my partner still gets carers allowance? Because this would affect our UC and we've only just migrated and got that sorted out. How long after people return their forms are the reviews being processed currently?

Hi @wonkydaze! I know the review is incredibly stressful. Your award will continue until a decision on the review has been made. They won't stop the award without having reviewed it. I hope this clears things up and makes the form filling a little less stressful!

It could be anything up to a year, possibly longer. I returned my review form in November 2023 and still waiting for a decision.
You need to make sure you treat it as a new claim and give as much relevant information as possible. Even if there's been no changes, please do not just write no change and nothing else.
You can ask for extra time to return the form and they'll give an extra 2 weeks.
