Hi everyone
hi everyone.
Iam new to this and looking for some advice.
Iam currently in supporting housing recovering from addiction which Iam nearly a year clear.
Iam looking to move out of where Iam into some sort of shared housing so I can start volunteering and local services etc to help people going through what I went through but struggling to get a deposit or months rent in advance is there any help I could get with that ? Who do I contact ? West Yorkshire area thanks.

Are you currently claiming for help with your rent through housing benefit? If so then have a look at applying for a Discretionary Housing Payment. (DHP)

HI @tomn1990 and welcome to the community.
I see Poppy has already helped you there but just wanted to say well done for being a year free from addiction! That's a massive achievement and it's great that you're looking to the future and want to take some positive steps. It may be worth contacting Kirklees Council to see what they can help with.
